Methodology Statement
FREETOWN COMMUNITY MISSION (FCM) — in pursuing its Christian missionary enterprise wherever it serves — follows the example of the LORD Jesus Christ who, during His earthly ministry, did not wait for seekers to find Him; but, instead, “Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness” (Matthew 9:35, NIV). Towards that end, FCM Associates (missionaries, staff, volunteers, etc.) intensely observe the following FCM Missionary Method:

Reasons For Celebration
GBLOR DISTRICT (NIMBA COUNTY) — the newly created administrative division of Nimba County (north-central Liberia) — is located in a region of the country known as “Liberia’s Heartland” … considered critically important and essential to the survival, sustainability and viability of the Republic of Liberia. It has been said of this region: “Nimba is blessed with ample natural resources, all of which are crucial to economic growth, investment and job creation. In this place one finds minerals of iron ore, gold and diamonds, agriculture and forestry, with timber and rubber being the most important cash crops. As Nimba County goes, so goes the rest of Liberia.” — Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf (former President of Liberia, 2006-2018)
Reasons for concern
“More than 2 million children under the age of 18 live in Liberia. Their journey to adulthood is not an easy one. Children and adolescents should be safe at home, in schools and in their communities but unfortunately they are not. Harsh child discipline such as beating regularly occurs, and ‘sex-for-grades’ is a common practice in schools. Four in 10 women are married while they are still children (under the age of 18) and a significant number of women have gone through the brutal procedure of female genital mutilation/cutting, many at a young age” (https://www.unicef.org/
